The Scott Cao 950 Violas are crafted in Scott Cao’s workshop in Campbell, California. The Campbell workshop is staffed by a team of ten award-winning luthiers under the direct supervision of Scott Cao. Each viola is handmade and modeled on a famous Italian instrument with high quality European maple, Italian spruce, Indian ebony fingerboard, and Hill style boxwood fittings. The finish of these instruments is applied to resemble either an antique or a straight new finish. The beautiful oil varnish used follows the traditional methods perfected by the Italian master makers of centuries past. Instruments made in the Campbell workshop are in the hands of advanced students and professional players. Teachers across the nation have been recommending Scott's instruments for years.
